Dirk V van Holland, Count of Holland, was born 1045 to Floris I van Holland (1030-1061) and Gertrud von Sachsen (1033-1113) .
Dirk married a daughter of the Duke of Saxony, just like his father did and his grand-father may have done. Note that during Dirk's reign, his county became known as Holland.
