Djimba is a corruption of the Darug words for "of the mother", which literally means unnamed child.

As nothing more is heard of Djimba, it is believed that he was named Colbee, as it is often the custom to name children after significant events and people.

This is probably the case after the 1791 meeting of Yarramundi and the white fellas, with Colbee as guide.
