Dorothea von Braunschweig-Wolfenbüttel was born 8 July 1596 in Wolfenbüttel, Lower Saxony, Germany to Heinrich Julius von Braunschweig-Wolfenbüttel (1564-1613) and Elisabeth of Denmark (1573-1625) and died 1 September 1643 Halle, Saxony-Anhalt, Germany of unspecified causes. She married Christian Wilhelm von Brandenburg (1587-1665) 1 January 1615 in Wolfenbüttel, Lower Saxony, Germany.
