Edmund Blachford Cox was born 25 June 1853 in Windsor, New South Wales, Australia to Alfred Cox (1825-1911) and Mary Macpherson (1830-1899) and died 10 September 1931 Roto-O-Rangi, Waikato, New Zealand of unspecified causes. He married David Ann Wilkin (1855-1931) 12 January 1871 in St Andrews Church, Christchurch, Canterbury, New Zealand.
