Edward Charles Rudder was born 17 December 1862 in Macleay River, New South Wales, Australia to Enoch Rudder (1830-1926) and Eliza Perrin (1842-1925) and died 28 November 1938 Kempsey, New South Wales, Australia of unspecified causes. He married Mary Jane Nicholson (1864-1917) 1884 in Condobolin, New South Wales, Australia.

Mr. Edward Charles Rudder, who passed away in hospital at Kempsey, Monday, November 28, was the eldest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Enoch Rudder, of Oaklands, Macleay River. Born at Woodfield, Euroka, seventy-seven years ago, he when twenty-one, married Miss Mary Nicholson, of Condobolin, where he resided for several years. Following extensive experience sheep farming in the Western districts, and later in copper mining, Mr. Rudder returned to the Macleay forty-two years ago, and engaged in dairying, being a successful exhibitor of cattle at local shows. A skilful horseman he also competed in the ring. During the past ten years he had managed Mr. Harry Ball's property at Bellbrook. A much respected citizen he is survived by three sons, Messrs. W. H. Rudder, Tennessee, Arthur E. Rudder, South West Rocks, and Allan D. Rudder, and one daughter, Miss Muriel Rudder, Sydney. Brothers and sisters surviving are Messrs, M. G. Rudder, Aldavilla; C. H. Rudder, Piper's Creek, Mesdames, L. T. Rudder, Sydney; and A. V. Riley, South Coast. After a service by Archdeacon Tress, who also officiated at the grave, the funeral moved from All Saints' Church of England, Wednesday last, to East Kempsey cemetery, under direction of Mr. J. T. Walker. Deceased was laid to rest alongside his wife who predeceased him by twenty years. Many relatives and numerous friends were present.
