Biography
Edward Hogan was born circa 1860 in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia and died 28 October 1937 Fremantle, Western Australia, Australia of unspecified causes. He married Elizabeth Alice Reid (1866-1941) 29 December 1884 in Residence of Joseph Reid, Peats Ferry, New South Wales, Australia.

Obituary
An old and respected resident of Fremantle, Mr. Edward Hogan, of the Burlington Cafe, Packenham St, Fremantle and for many years of the Way and Works Department, W.A. Government Railways, Fremantle, died on Thursday last, and the funeral took place on Saturday morning. The remains were interred in the Church of England portion of the Karrakatta Cemetery, and the rector of St. John's Church, Fremantle (the Rev. Canon E. M. Collick) conducted the service at the graveside.
Mr. Hogan was born at Melbourne, Victoria, and arrived in Western Australia 41 years ago. Before coming to this State he was employed on railway work in the Eastern States and shortly after his arrival here, joined the service of the West Australian Government Railways where he remained until his retirement eight years ago. Mr. Hogan had always been a keen supporter of Labour organisations, and took a great interest in union affairs. He was also very greatly interested in all kinds of sport and followed cricket particularly. Mr. Hogan possessed a bright and genial personality and was highly respected. He was especially devoted to his home and family. He leaves a widow two sons, seven daughters, 26 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren to mourn their loss. Reid (nephews) and Mesdames C. Lovatt, R. K. Reid, A. Caimon, H. Wilson and Miss H. Lovatt (nieces). The pallbearers were Messrs N. Woods. J. O'Connor. W. McKay. H. F. Hutchinson. J. Taylor and W. E. Cook.

Numerous floral tributes were placed on the grave and expressions of sympathy have been extended to the bereaved relatives on all sides.
The funeral arrangements were in the hands of Arthur E. Davies and Co.
