Edward Richard Stewart was born 5 May 1782 to John Stewart, 7th Earl of Galloway (1736-1806) and Anne Dashwood (1743-1830) and died 27 May 1851 of unspecified causes. He married Katherine Charteris (bef1790-1863) November 1805 .
