Descendants
By the end of 1886, the youngest child and the two oldest had died (at ages ranging from 5 to 27) in Dunedin. The other eight, all of whom moved to the North Island with their parents, survived to adulthood and marriage, giving her four grandchildren born before she died and 38 after. Probably the best known grandchild was Michael Forlong (1912-2000), film producer. One of the most prominent great-grandchildren was Sir Bruce Houlton Slane, a lawyer and former Privacy Commissioner.
