Elizabeth Mitchell was born circa 1802 in England to Thomas Mitchell and Elizabeth Thomas (c1781-1830) and died 11 December 1882 Windsor, New South Wales, Australia of unspecified causes.

Elizabeth Mitchell came to Australia with her 3 siblings and with her convict mother, Elizabeth Mitchell nee Thomas (c1781-1830) on the Lord Wellington in 1819.

Her first husband James Wilbow drowned on 20 April 1839 at Pitt Town Bottoms.

Elizabeth then married Alexander Morrison in 1841. Alexander Morrison had arrived as a Scottish convict on the Guildford on 25 July 1827. At the age of 18 years Alexander Morrison was sentenced in Glasgow in 1826 for 14 years for housebreaking.
