She married William Loudon (1850-1885) 17 May 1878 in Ashburton, Ashburton District, Canterbury, New Zealand. She married Colin Carmichael (1863-1899) 27 April 1898 in Seattle, King County, Washington, United States.


Emigrated from New Zealand to USA 1884 with husband and 3 chn; all 6 bur @ Tahoma Cemetery.

In about 1901, after her second husband died, she founded the Yakima Creamery Co; one of the descendants sent Robin Patterson a photocopy of the 50th anniversary newspaper article - "You Had to be Early to Get the Cream".

According to British Columbia Vital Event Death Registration Elizabeth Carmichael died May 24, 1920, age 61 in Vancouver, B.C. Reg. Number 1920-09-261518. B.C. Archives Microfilm Number: 813117. GSU Microfilm Number: 1927294. Elizabeth swore on oath that it was her intention to become a citizen of the United States on October 28, 1886.

Ian Patterson's notes said she and Colin were married 9 Apr 1898 at Cowiche, WA, USA. In 2009, Janet Baker (presumably having done even more research, said: Colin Carmichael married Elizabeth Paterson Cochrane Loudon on April 27, 1898 in Seattle, King Co., WA. according to their marriage cert.
