Obituary
Ellen R. Griffin of Westbrookville, a homemaker and a lifelong area resident, died Thursday, February 21, 2002, at the Beechwood Residence in Buffalo. She was 86.
The daughter of the late Daniel and Sybil Decker Ashworth, she was born in Westbrookville. She was married to the late Joseph Griffin. She was a member of the Westbrookville United Methodist Church and a Sunday School teacher of the church for many years. She was also a member of the Baasha Club of the church.
Survivors include one son, John D. Griffin, and his wife, Wilma of Buffalo; one brother, Charles A. Ashworth, of Little Falls and several nieces. She was predeceased by two brothers, Curtis and Daniel Clifford Ashworth.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 26, at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis. The Rev. Judy Sibley will officiate. Burial will be in the Westbrookville Cemetery, Westbrookville. --Middletown (NY) Times Herald Record, February 23, 2002
