- Elmer Maupin, a resident of this community for many years passed away Thursday at the Hamburg hospital. He was stricken a few hours earlier with a hemmorrhage and rushed to the hospital for treatment. It is believed that the throat condition, for which he had undergone more than twenty operations, had reahed the large vein supplying the heart. Elmer Maupin, son of Charles and Nora Maupin, was born near Rock Port, Dec. 21 1893 and passed away at Hamburg, Iowa Nov. 30 1950, at the age of 56 years, 11 months and 9 days. He was united in marriage to Eula Len McAdams at Nebraska City, Nebraska, August 20 1918 and to this union eight children were born, Charles and Doris Jean proceeded their father in death. He is survived by his wife; five daughters, Mrs. John Gilbert of Percival, Mrs. Dale Laughlin Jr., Srahan, Mrs Donald Hays, Van Nuys, Calif., Mrs. G T Erb and Mrs Jim Hall, both of Hamburg; one son Carroll; ten grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Walter Williams of Hamburg; and two brothers, John Maupin of Watson and Ralph Maupin of Memphis, Tenn.
