Emily Mae Roberts was born on 4th July,1899 Born at Moorlarben, Cooks Gap NSW, She was the eldest daughter of pioneers James and Maude Roberts (nee Carlisle).

Emily Mae died on 13th June,1992 at Long Jetty Hospital NSW Resided Berkley Vale NSW.

Mae as she was known, grew up at Moorlarben and was educated at the Moorlarben School. Later the family moved to Horatio Street, Mudgee. Throughout her life Mae was always popular and attractive with a very active and alert mind.

At the time of her death she was Mrs Baker as she was twice married. In Mudgee, where she had many friends and relatives, she will be remembered as Mae Roberts and Mae Tighe, as her first husband was the late Ashley Thomas Tighe who years ago had a men's tailoring business in Market Street, Mudgee. They had a family of six children, Darrell (deceased), Sylvia, Marie, Pauline, Leonie and Warwick surving, together with 20 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and some great-great grandchildren.

After living in Sydney, as a widow,Mae, some 20 years before her death married George Baker and they resided at Berkley Vale. After George's death, she continued to live on her own caring for herself and her home. About two years ago, due to failing health but still wanting to live in her own home, her daughters took it in turn to care for her until she entered Long Jetty Hospital two weeks prior to her death,

Mae Roberts-Tighe-Baker was one of 11 surviving children (several died at birth) of Jim and Maud Roberts. She was pre-deceased by her brothers Arthur, Ray, Albert and Stan also her sisters Olive, Miriam and Dossie. She is survived by Enid and Edna and brother Ralph Roberts.
