Obituary

MRS. EMMA WALKER

With the death of Mrs. Emma Walker at the Dangar Cottage Hospital yesterday, Singleton lost an extremely popular and highly respected personality. The late Mrs. Walker was 81. Her death occurred exactly a week after that of one of her sons, Albert, at Maitland. The late Mrs. Walker was born at St. Albans, but lived in the Singleton District during the past 45 years. Her husband, Mr. Thomas Walker, predeceased her in April, 1948, and afterwards she lived with her son, Edgar, at Glendon. Endowed with a cheerful personality, Mrs. Walker won the friendship of a great number of people throughout the district. She is survived by two children, Mrs. Harold Morris, of Hambledon Hill, and Mr. Edgar Walker, of Glendon. The funeral will leave for the Methodist Cemetery at Sedgefield, after a service at the Singleton Methodist Church at 11 a.m. tomorrow. Partridge Bros, are in charge of the funeral arrangements.
