Estefania de Barcelona was born 1000 to Ramon Borrel de Barcelone (972-1017) and Ermessinde de Carcassonne (972-1057) and died before 1040 of unspecified causes. She married Roger I de Tosny (-1040) .
Little is known about Estefania (who is sometimes called Adelaide). It is plausible that she married Roger de Tosny when he was a general in her mother's service. Roger left a widow named Gotelina. It is not clear who was the mother of Roger's eight children, although the fact that Roger's surviving children did not emphasize their link to the mighty house of Barcelona suggests that Goteline is the likely mother.
