Concepts are a new namespace introduced with Semantic MediaWiki to Familypedia in 2009. They partly replace (and can be a semi-automatic alternative to) categories, particularly the most specific categories, but can work in conjunction with them and can be in any language. See Forum:"Concepts" and Concept talk:Born in New South Wales for early discussion.
Discussion from now on could be best at Forum:Concepts so that more users have it drawn to their attention.
Naming conventions[]
There will be considerable practical advantages in having a concept's "PAGENAME" exactly the same as that of a category. Departures from that standard should be discussed in case a consensus can produce a better alternative than was first thought of.
Categorization of concepts[]
Same as for articles.
