Finlay Campbell of Carse/Corswall, Chamberlain of Galloway was born circa 1485 in Scotland and died circa 21 May 1565 Scotland of unspecified causes.

"The last of the Campbells of Corsewall, in direct decent (for there were offshoots) appear to have been Janet and Margaret, daughters and co-heirs of Finlay Campbell of Corswall. Janet was served heir to her father, 21st May, 1565 in "dimietate 45 mercatis terrarum de Corsewall," Also in the lands of Mye, 27th April, 1568. She was infeft of the lands of Airie, Knockbrek, Auchins, Balgoone, and Carnbrok, in the parrish of Kirkholm. Margaret Campbell, her sister, is stated to have married Uchtred McDowall of Garthland. She was evidently a co-heiress, as her husband obtained with her, by charter, one half of the barony of Corswalll; and it is further supposed that the other co-heiress, Janet, never married, for the McDowalls continued to own the property, which comprised Corswall, Glengyre, Duloch, and Balgoun, thus implying that, at her death, the whole came into possession of her sister Margaret, or her issue." --History of the Lands and Their Owners in Galloway: With Historical Sketches of the District, Volume 1 by Peter Handyside M'Kerlie

"In 1535, the Earl's uncle, Donald, Abbot of Coupar, was given protection and safeguard for himself and fifteen others going abroad. Finlay Campbell of Corsewall was among the fifty lowland lairds and relations of William Stewart, Bishop of Aberdeen, who accompanied Donald on his mission, during the same year, on the business of the marriage." --A History of Clan Campbell: From Flodden to the Restoration by Alastair Campbell, Alastair Campbell Campbell of Airds (the marriage spoken of above was for James V to Madeleine de Valois)
