I am trying to track down my 6th great grandfather, Joshua Brick, Sen. Esq.  I have an obituary for his daughter, Sarah (Brick) Noble.  She died in Philadelphia on 21 Dec. 1823.  Sarah was born about 1742 (maybe in Philadelphia) and was the widow of Anthony Noble, Esq. and mother of Sarah Clopper.  The obituary also states that she was the sister-in-law to the late Lieut. Governor John Broome of New York.  I found it a bit odd that they did not mention Sarah's mother in the obit.   The obituary appeared twice, both in Poulson's American Daily Advertiser, 12-23-1823 and 12-29-1823.

Although I have looked at all the available information at Ancestry, etc., I cannot seem to locate this particular Joshua Brick.  There are many Brick families in southern New Jersey, but I do not know if my Joshua is connected to them.

I am mainly looking for when and where Joshua Brick was born and the maiden name of his wife.  Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

An interesting genealogy. Perhaps you should check on Lieut. Governor John Broome of New York. Starting at his wikipedia pageWp globe tiny, I see that you seem to be a distant cousin to Anna Eleanor Roosevelt (1884-1962), as follows:

Rebecca Lloyd (1747–1800)

John Broome (1738-1810)

Ruth Brick (1742-1840)

Robert Hunter (1736-1800)

several children with notable descendants

Elizabeth A Hunter

ancestor of

Anna Eleanor Roosevelt (1884-1962)

This may give you some angles to investigate.
