New feature for Monaco skin, introduced across Wikia on 18 March 2009. See Help:CategorySelect. — Robin Patterson (Talk) 09:48, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
NOT TO BE ENABLED until further notice - it mucks up some very important templates. — Robin Patterson (Talk) 12:42, 17 June 2009 (UTC)
It has done it again. I've contacted Wikia:
Another newbie messed up a page yesterday. Clearly you have not succeeded in fixing it so that it will not throw categories to the end, creating a new line after a "noinclude". Therefore we have to ask that it be totally disabled on the Genealogy Wikia. http://genealogy.wikia.com/index.php?title=Forum:Problems_with_info_templates&oldid=239094 should be the clearest version of the forum in which we worked out that CategorySelect was the culprit. Date around 9 April.

Here's the reply:
Hi Robin,
Sorry for the unexpected re-activation. As you probably know, we have changed the way that the Rich Text Editor works, so that it is generally enabled, but each user can disable it. The category feature is firmly linked to the Rich Text Editor, so where the RTE is enabled, the category feature will also be on.
So the question is, would you prefer to have both enabled, or to have neither? Possibly with the complex code you tend to use on Genealogy, the Rich Text Editor isn't as useful as for other wikis?
Please let me know.
Regards,

- Is it going to be disabled? Because every person who edits would have to change their preferences, and that would mess everything up everytime a new contributor edits an info page. -AMK152(talk • contribs) 15:31, 29 June 2009 (UTC)
