I was curious what people thought of adding categories of Ancestor of ________. Either for famous people or contributors. I don't know how much stress that would put on the system if we created a lot more categories but I also thought that it might inspire more interest in how is this person an ancestor of X and who you share that ancestor with. I like Rtol's idea. Too many categories would get messy. Also, ancestor lists of famous people would have their subpage so people can see a person's ancestors in an organized list. -AMK152^{(talk • contribs}) 21:33, 7 July 2009 (UTC)

Done. Just place {{Notable family}} on a page. The secret lies in the categories VIA, VID, and FC, for Very Important Ancestors, Very Important Descendants, and Familypedia Contributors. rtol 18:18, 14 July 2009 (UTC)
