Wikia's new look in late 2010 involves substantial reduction in article width. The children box (created with {{showfacts children}}) will hardly ever be narrow enough to sit beside the standard infobox and should be redesigned to sit regularly below the infobox and cover the full available width. That will allow the addition of at least one other column, e.g. a column for marriages, one of the commonest additions that contributors make in manually-constructed child lists. — Robin Patterson (Talk) 23:56, October 25, 2010 (UTC)

The forms now include a {{clear}} to make the children box sit below the infobox and therefore have "full" width to play with. So how about comments on the idea of adding spouses? I would like it done. -- Robin Patterson (Talk) 05:20, January 14, 2013 (UTC)

Thank you, Thurstan, for the prompt fulfilment of that wish. A significant improvement to the wiki. -- Robin Patterson (Talk) 03:15, March 17, 2013 (UTC)

Next I would like the {{clear}} (or the Wikia standard {{clr}}) to be incorporated in the template rather than being tacked on as a relatively free-floating part of the article. It's not needed for anything above the child box. Its separate inclusion pushes the table of contents down below the infobox, whereas the TOC is a useful navigational tool and neatly fills some or all of what would be irritating white space on a large proportion of articles. (I know that some contributors routinely include "__NOTOC__" in articles; I don't favour it; I expect it arose from earlier format problems that are now behind us.) -- Robin Patterson (Talk) 03:15, March 17, 2013 (UTC)

Thank you again, Thurstan. ---- Robin Patterson (Talk) 23:29, March 18, 2013 (UTC)
