Our relatively new "/descendants" tab is so good and so easy to create that there should be far more than the current 95 of them. It says it shows descendants as far down as great-grandchildren but actually goes further.
- As soon as you have created an "Ancestor tree" tab, go up to the address bar, double-click the "tree" bit at the end (or whatever else you have to do to delete it), type "descendants", and hit Enter.
- Edit the resulting new page by adding {{showfacts d - then let the autocomplete make it easy for you to finish off to {{Showfacts descendants}}. If doing several people's pages at once you may paste the whole template for even more speed.
- Save page.
Minor quibbles:
- No in-laws and no distinction between children of different partners - so it's not quite as good as a WorldConnect or FTM outline descendant tree
- Should be among the standard options on the main "Save with form" page straight after the "Create tree tab" button
- Could be created by bot for all existing pages for individuals who have children??

- We could add "(with SPOUSE)" to the children.
- Forms would need to be adjusted. That's for Phlox.
- No problem. rtol 12:21, March 9, 2010 (UTC)
Spouse now added for the kids. Not sure that this is an improvement:
- Johan Willem Friso van Nassau-Dietz (1687-1711)/descendants
- Marie Luise von Hessen-Kassel (1688-1765)/descendants
- Charlemagne (747-814)/descendants

The descendants tab is great! I look forward to the day when we can create it with a single click, like we do with ancestor trees. I can even foresee a day when every time a person page is created, a full suite of sensor, tree, and descendants pages are created automatically. If you want to see a really large descendants page, look here: Edward Doty (bef1600-1655)/descendants DennisDoty 13:00, March 11, 2010 (UTC)
- There's now a button. It's monolingual, and it messes up the lay-out. Let's hope that Phlox will be back soon to repair the damage. rtol 19:43, March 11, 2010 (UTC)
