I hope i am putting this in the right place. I create an infobox for info to be organized in here: Template:Person. Any feedback would be great. I'm sure there are other information that can be added to it. -AMK152(TalkContributions 01:10, 20 July 2007 (UTC)

Items like this for general discussion usully go here in the WaterCooler, to which location I've transferred the content from its original location in Community portal:talk.
Your template would be another example of specific formats that people might use to layout their genealogical information concerning a specific individual. Some of the more common formats are identified at the "Create a page" link in the navigation pane. There are a number of other formats that are employed, some similar to this one, others considerably different. One of the advantages of this Wiki is that no one is forced to use any particular format; people can (and do) use just about anything that makes sense to them. If this works for you and others, then that's good. Just about everyone seems to come up with their own format. Bill 01:31, 20 July 2007 (UTC)
Good work, AMK. I've put it into two categories; no harm in having more if suitable. Robin Patterson 14:27, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
Now even more useful, since Phlox came on board and starting creating clever things. Robin Patterson 06:02, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
My POV is that AMK's person infobox is easy enough for most folks to use, and imposes very modest control on naive users. If they don't put the values in the slots for birth and death, it isn't displayed. A Bot can later upconvert these templates to some future more powerful format- maybe info pages, maybe something else- Until we have an interface that makes it easy to manipulate info pages, then I don't know that we should be converting everyone's new work over to them- maybe articles that haven't been edited since 2006, but certainly not stuff that newcomers have added in the last year. I just think it would freak too many of them out. ~ Phlox 23:16, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
OK, something for the future. Robin Patterson 01:54, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
