discussion[]
The code above is, as of this writing, located on the Sandbox.
I think SiteMeter is the best hope we have for a great page counter. It has great statistics. The one requirement, and the one which is beyond my programming skills, is to have an external website "hit" each time the page is viewed or accessed. SiteMeter will then say how many page views there are AND from how many UNIQUE IP addresses - meaning, how many different people. So, if one person views the page five times, SiteMeter will record that data (in aggregate). SiteMeter will then e-mail a daily summary of this activity to an address of our choosing. This is why Natalis was created. I'll provide username and password upon request.
The HTML code I have used above. There is also Javascript code. We will have to ask someone (maybe Chad?) if Monobook.js can be used for this. If so, then that can solve our "external website hit" problem.
There is also a PHP-NUKE code. We will have to ask someone is Monobook.php can use this code. Again this is over Zeph's head.

Research[]
An additional research note:
I also found this http://blogger-bee.com/index.php/Captain's_log#Test:_Adding_SiteMeter_to_a_standard_Wiki. It appears the test has failed. But, again, this is beyond Zeph's head.
Oh, and for the HTML code above, the copyright notices are required, though they can be, as they are, in comments.

StatCounter[]
I also opened an account with StatCounter and had similar problems as that with SiteMeter. Again, just reporting this for the record. Zephyrinus/Natalis 01:55, 22 April 2007 (UTC)

I hadn't looked at the Site Meter item previously. That's quite interesting, and potentiall very useful, though I suspect its stuck/not functional now/erased from Sandbox? The ability to count unique IP address hits would really be helpful. Appreciate all that you are doing on this...just don't wear yourself out. Bill 02:44, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
