Sometimes I am unable to access pictures. It appears that internet explorer times out trying to retrieve the picture in that after a period of waiting a small square with a red X in it appears where the picture should be. Other times these same pictures are completely and quickly available. Once the problem starts it applies to all photos and it continues for a long while. Closing Familypdia and restarting it does not make the problem go away. Shutting down internet explorer and restarting it does not make the problem go away. Shutting down my computer and restarting it did make the problem go away, but it has also gone away without shutting down my computer. It seems the problem continues for a period of time regardless of what I do, and then disappears on its own. DennisDoty 17:51, February 6, 2010 (UTC)

Commendable research, DD! I see the little red X quite a lot, on various websites, and I usually don't worry about it. Have you tried Firefox? — Robin Patterson (Talk) 09:09, February 9, 2010 (UTC)
I don't have Firefox, but it would be interesting to know if this problem occurs for other web brousers, because it appears that the Wikia software uses different files depending on the user's web brouser. For example, the form for adding person pages, as it appears on my computer, has files on it such as Vista-folder user.png, which has the URL: Vista-folder_user.png. When the problem is occurring I cannot use the form for adding person pages until my computer's operating system, Windows Vista, has had its requests for each of the files on that form time out, and that takes more than a minute. Even if the problem does not occur for other brousers, Wikia must still address what is going wrong for Windows Vista users. DennisDoty 16:20, February 9, 2010 (UTC)
