Forums: Index > Watercooler > Proposal: A bot flag for RtolBot

I propose that Rtolbot run by Rtol be given a bot flag on his account. We need folks to be able to make large runs to correct problems on the site and perform maintenance runs such as updating the genealogy statistics on sensor pages. It would be nice if as many of you were able to run AWB created a bot acdount and agreed to make these runs periodically.

Personally I don't see why anyone thinks bot flags are a big deal, but for whatever reason it is harder to assign a bot flag than become a bureaucrat or an admin. The procedure is to establish community consensus for assigning a bot flag before a Helper will set the flag.

Until then, if you want to hide Rtol's edits, click the hide minor edits button.

Anyway, all those in favor of Richard getting a bot flag say aye. All those opposed, feel free to do that too.

I say yes. Everyone else that thinks they may make a run updating hundreds or thousands of pages, please create a Bot account and post your intent here. (For name choice, it is best to just make a name postpending Bot to your regular user name- that way people know who to contact about bots getting lost in the weeds). ~ Phlox 08:10, November 7, 2009 (UTC)
