For the next two months, I will be on a project that is taking me to a place where my internet access may be severely restricted. I expect to be intensely bored there, but I may not have much more than a 15 minutes a day or so on a slow modem. On the other hand I could have unrestricted access except at slow data speeds, I just don't know.
Whichever the case, from 24 November to mid to late January, my ability to participate here will be restricted. Robin will be monitoring stuff.
Any change requests need to get to me ASAP so that I can make needed adjustments to templates or make bot runs prior to departure. Please leave notes on my talk page. The info page conversions will largely be complete prior to my departure.
As I said, I may easily be able to fix template breakages or improvements easily at this new location. I just don't know. Even bot runs might be possible if I can at least debug them on a slow line. I would then hand them off to one of you folks to run in bulk on a faster line.
I apologize for the short notice, I only learned of this possibility last week, and it only became certain 2 days ago. ~ Phlox 16:59, November 19, 2009 (UTC)
- I suggest that we start a thread "Phlox is gone" where we post our questions to the good doctor. Collectively, we can probably answer half of those questions. rtol 07:59, November 20, 2009 (UTC)
- I just got out of a long meeting and it looks like my internet situation will not be so dire. From what I am hearing, it should be adequate for template fixes and answering questions since these are well within the capabilities of the low bandwidth figures I am hearing about. Big bot runs are out of the question though, so I am trying to get the info pages conversion squared away before I leave. ~ Phlox 02:43, November 21, 2009 (UTC)
