Francis Leveson-Gower was born 1 January 1800 to George Granville Leveson-Gower, 1st Duke of Sutherland (1758-1833) and Elizabeth Gordon, 19th Countess of Sutherland (1765-1839) and died 18 February 1857 of unspecified causes. He married Harriet Catherine Greville (1805-1866) 18 June 1822 .
