Francis Peabody Sr was born 1 December 1694 in Topsfield, Essex County, Massachusetts to Isaac Peabody (1648-1727) and Sarah Estes (1677-1727) and died 23 April 1769 Middleton, Essex County, Massachusetts of unspecified causes. He married Dorothy Perkins (1695-1771) 27 January 1714 in Topsfield, Essex County, Massachusetts.
Francis Peabody Sr was a farmer in Middleton, MA, was in military service in 1711 and held the rank of "Cornet", the lowest rank of commissioned officer at the time. He married 27 Jan 1714/15 Dorothy Perkins.
They had 13 children - Deacon Francis [Jr.], Samuel d/y, Mary, Dorothy, Samuel, Nathaniel, Captain William L., Isaac [Sr.], Daniel, Bimsley, Hannah, Stephen, Andrew. Francis died d 23 Apr. 23, 1769 Middleton, and is buried in the Peabody Burying Ground, a family graveyard adjoining his farm and since 1932 owned by the Society for the Preservation of New England Antiquities. His widow died May 3, 1771 Middleton at age 76 and is buried with her husband, presumably in one of the graves marked only with a field stone.
