  • "It is with deep sorrow that Wagner College observes the passing of the Rev. Frederick Bryant, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church in Jersey City, N.J., a member of our chaplains team, and liaison for Wagner’s Upsala scholarship program for Lutheran ministerial candidates. Pastor Bryant passed away last Friday evening, April 15, 2011. The wake and funeral service for Pastor Bryant is scheduled for this Saturday, April 23, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 195 Claremont Ave., Jersey City, N.J. The wake is scheduled from 8 to 10 a.m. The funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. Burial will immediately follow the funeral service. Please check the website for Watson Mortuary Service in Jersey City for Pastor Bryant’s obituary, which will be forthcoming. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations should be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, Jersey City. Condolences may be sent to Pastor Bryant’s wife, Dorothee Heins Holmstrup Bryant ’41, 9 Bedford Place, Fair Lawn NJ 07410."
  • "Rev. Frederick James Bryant Jr. of Jersey City, N.J., formerly of Philadelphia, Pa., died on April 15, 2011. The funeral service is Saturday, April 23, 2011 at 10 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 195 Claremont Ave., Jersey City, N.J. Viewing is on Saturday from 8 to 10 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church. Interment is in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, N.J. Arrangements are entrusted to Watson Mortuary Service, 26 Gifford Ave., Jersey City, N.J. Please sign the guestbook at www.watsonmortuaryservice.com. An an educated man and mentor, Rev. Bryant had served five congregations throughout the Pennsylvania and New Jersey areas. As of January 2011, Pastor Bryant had served at Trinity Lutheran Church in Jersey City , N.J. for 17 years. Rev. Bryant held a master's of divinity degree and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was predeceased by his parents, Frederick Bryant Sr. and Eleanor (Clay) Bryant. He leaves to mourn his passing, his loving wife, Dorothee Holmstrup Bryant; beloved daughter, Eleanor R. Bryant; cherished mom, Joan Bryant; devoted siblings, Janice Coates, Carolyn B. Matthews, Toby A. Bryant and Keith R. Bryant; one nephew, Mr. Jody A. Benjamin; Goddaugher, Alisa K. Reid; mother of Eleanor, Marilyn Rosa Bryant, and stepdaughter, Rhea. He is also survived by his Trinity family, and many other loving relative."
