He was educated at St. Mark’s School and then graduated from Harvard with the class of 1888. On 15 Sep 1888 he entered the business of banking with the firms of Bradford, Thomas & Co. and Barnes & Cunningham. He was also a real estate broker and agent with the firm of J. Murray Howe and Bradlee in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, USA. In 1866, 1890, 1900, 1920, 1835, 1937, 1938, 1940 and in 1943 he was living in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts. In 1880 he was living in Marblehead, Essex County, Massachusetts. In 1885 and 1887 to 1888 he was living in Cambridge, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, USA. Perez Morton (1751-1837) who was 4th Massachusetts Attorney General, Speaker of the Massachusetts House of Representatives (1806-1808) and (1810-1811) and held the rank of Major in the American Revolutionary War and Deputy Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Massachusetts (1789-1790). His wif was Sarah Wentworth Apthorp (1759-1846), who was an American poet. Mary is also a descendant of Charles Apthorp (1697-1758) who was the wealthiest man of Boston of his time and man with "imperial trading connections." He served as the Paymaster General of the British Army and Navy forces in Boston. He was a director of the National Boston Bank.
