Willem Frederik Karel van Oranje-Nassau was born 28 February 1797 in Berlin to Willem I van Oranje-Nassau (1772-1843) and Wilhelmine von Preußen (1774-1837) and died 8 September 1881 Wassenaar of unspecified causes. He married Luise von Preußen (1808-1870) 21 May 1825 in Berlin.
Frederick, Prince of the Netherlands, Prince of Orange-Nassau, was offered the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and the Kingdom of Greece but refused both offers. His wife Louise was both his first and his second cousin, and his sister married her brother.
