George Abner Gray was born 9 April 1846 in Shanklin, Isle of Wight, England, United Kingdom to George Gray (1818-1861) and Ann Lock (1822-1849) and died 11 August 1941 Grafton, New South Wales, Australia of unspecified causes. He married Mary Jane Eggins (1849-1929) 6 April 1868 in Grafton, New South Wales, Australia.

Obituary
One of the oldest residents of the Clarence River district in the person of Mr. George A. Gray, farmer, of Southgate road, died at his residence between 7 and 7.30 last, night. Mr. Gray, who was 95 years of age last April, was found in a state of collapse, when his tea was taken to him.
The deceased, vvho had had a very interesting life, was a farmer in the district for many years, and was also well known for his activities as a veterinary surgeon. He also took a keen interest in cricket, of which he was a keen supporter. Possessing a very retentive memory and remarkably active for his years, Mr. Gray was able to relate many interesting experiences.

The funeral will leave from the Methodist Church immediately after a service commencing at 2.15 p.m., for the Grafton cemetery.
