George Ernest James Chaseling was born 27 May 1869 in Terara, New South Wales, Australia to James Andrew Chaseling (1842-1881) and Elizabeth Steadman (1838-1912) and died 14 June 1941 Kingaroy, Queensland, Australia of unspecified causes. He married Clara Adeline Knight (1867-1954) 1893 in Woonona, New South Wales, Australia.

Obituary
The death has occurred of Mr. G. E. J. Chaseling, a pioneer of the Kingaroy district, at the age of 72 years. Born at Terara, Shoalhaven, N.S.W., Mr. Chaseling, settled at Coolabunia in 1906, and became a successful breeder of Illawarra dairy cattle. He is survived by a widow, one son (Lieutenant J. A. Chaseling, serving with the A.I.F. at Darwin), and four daughters — Mrs. J. Minton (Sydney), and Misses Gertrude (Primary Correspondence School, Brisbane), Essie (Meeniyan, Victoria), and Ruby Chaseling (Coolabunia).
