George Scandrett (1834-1915) was born 1 January 1834 in Moira, County Down, Ireland to Jacob Scandrett (1776-1844) and Alice Stalford (c1776) and died 30 September 1915 New Zealand of unspecified causes. He married Helena Dillon (1840-1913) 20 May 1864 .
George Scandrett (1834-1915), youngest son of Jacob Scandrett (1776-1844) and Alice Stalford (c1776), emigrated to Australia and then sailed to New Zealand on the "Green Jacket" about 1860. Shortly after his arrival he settled on a farm in partnership with John Braithwaite at Mullet Point and named it "Lisadian".
On retirement the farm was owned by their second son Thomas Henry Scandrett and his wife Lucy Susie Scandrett (née Driver). Lucy Susie retained ownership when Thomas Henry died and eventually sold out to her first and second sons George Henry Scandrett and Raymond Renshaw Scandrett (Renshaw was Lucy Susie Driver's mother's maiden name). George and Raymond brought Goldsworthy's Bay and the north half of Martins Bay in 1942 which took the farm to 280 acres. The Scandrett family continued to farm the land until it was sold to the Auckland Regional Council in 1998, and it is now Scandrett Regional Park.
