Gilbert, 5th Baron Talbot e la Strange was born circa 1383 in England to Richard Talbot, 4th Baron Talbot (c1361-1383) and Ankaret le Strange (c1361-1413) and died 19 October 1418 Caudebec-en-Caux, Normandy, France of unspecified causes. He married Joan of Gloucester (1384-1400) 20 May 1392 JL . He married Beatrix Pinto (c1385-) 1414 JL .
Gilbert Talbot, 5th Lord Talbot was born in 1383.1 He was the son of Richard Talbot, 4th Lord Talbot and Ankaret Lestrange, Baroness Strange (of Blackmere).
He and Joan of Woodstock (a granddaughter of King Edward III of England) were engaged on 20 May 1392. She died in 1400, possibly in childbirth.
He married Beatrix Pinto (c1385-) c.1414, together they had one child.
He died on 19 October 1418.[1]
He succeeded as the 5th Lord Talbot [E., 1332] from 8 September 1396 to 9 September 1396.2 He fought in the Battle of Grosmount on 11 March 1404/5.2 He fought in the Siege of Harlech Castle from December 1408 to January 1408/9.2 He was appointed Knight, Order of the Garter (K.G.) in 1408/9.2 He held the office of Chief Justice of Cheshire in 1413.2 He succeeded as the 5th Baron Strange, of Blackmere [E., 1360] on 1 June 1413.2 He held the office of Captain of Caen Castle in 1418.2 He fought in the Siege of Domfront in July 1418.2 He fought in the Capture of Caudebec in September 1418. (possibly dying from mortal wounds there?)
