He is first mentioned in 1195 when he was present in Vladimir at the wedding of Konstantin Vsevolodovich [1].

In 1196, supporting his father-in-law, the Prince of Smolensk Davyd Rostislavich, he participated in the war with the Olgovichi of Chernigov and barely escaped captivity.

In 1207, Gleb together with his brother Oleg accused his uncles, Roman Glebovich of Ryazan (c1152-1216) and Svyatoslav Glebovich of Pronsk (c1162-1207), of treason to the Grand Prince of Vladimir-SuzdalVsevolod Yuryevich the Big Nest, which caused their imprisonment as well as that of the brothers Ingvar and Yuri Igorevich.

Following this imprisonment, Vsevolod Yuryevich gave the reign of the Grand Principality of Ryazan to Oleg Vladimirovich of Pronsk (c1183-c1216), to share it with Gleb. It turned out that this was not enough for Gleb and in 1209 he decided to take the rule of the Grand Principality of Ryazan. However, this attempt failed.
