Gottfried I von Juelich, Margrave of Lower Lorraine, Count of Hainaut, Count of Gillgau, was born circa 930 to Gottfried von Juelich (c905-c949) and Ermentrude (c912-?) and died 964 Rome of plague.
Although all sources have that Gottfried died childless, the Foundation for Medieval Genealogy has a son Arnaud who would marry Ermentrude de Verdun (c970-aft1010).[1]
