Grigore Petrescu was born circa 1855 and died circa 1909 of unspecified causes. He married Olga Petrescu (c1870-c1935) .
He obtained his medical doctor's degree in 1881, with a thesis on sphygmography. The commission was chaired by his future father-in-law Dr. Zaharia Petrescu, the other members of the commission being Dr. Carol Davila, Dr. Theodori, Dr. Iacob Felix and Dr. Severin.
He worked as a military ophthalmologist, having the rank of colonel
