THE LATE MRS. H. A COX
A TYPICAL PIONEER

The late Mrs. Harriet Ann Cox, wife of Mr. Robert M. Cox., of Main Creek, was a typical pioneer. Her home was her castle and her life was devoted to her husband and family.

Rarely did she leave her home. In addition to her husband, four sons and two daughters survive. Also 18 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Deceased was a daughter of pioneers, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Redman.

Of that family, Mr. Tom Redman, Leconfield, Branxton, is the sole survivor.

The sons are Robert Eric, James, Cecil and Jack; the daughters Ida (Mrs. Brodie, of Sydney) and Doris (Mrs. Robards).

One son, Jack, was a Flying Officer in Bomber Command, in England, and won the D.F.C. Grandson John, was a Pilot Officer bombing over Germany and he also won the D.F.C.

Her husband came from a pioneering faimily and was born at Monkerai On his side the family was related to the Atkins, whose ancestors were amongst our earliest settlers.

The funeral was one of the largest seen for many years. Mourners came from Sydney, Maitland, Gloucester and other centres. Christ Church was filled. The Rector, Rev. A. W. Moore, presided at the church and graveside. There was a wealth of floral tributes. The pall bearers were grandsons Cliff Cox, Keith Brodie, John Cox and Bobby Robards.

Deepest sympathy is extended to the bereaved in their sorrow.
