Harrison Otis Apthorp was born 7 June 1809 in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, United States to John Trecothick Apthorp (1769-1849) and Mary Spear Foster (1774-1854) and died 28 September 1883 Cambridge, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, United States of fractured hip. He married Helen Maria Clarke (1818-1891) 17 May 1841 in Northampton, Hampshire County, Massachusetts, United States.
