Heinrich I. von Oldenburg-Wildeshausen, Count of Wildeshausen, was born circa 1122 in Oldenburg, Lower Saxony, Germany to Egilmar II. von Oldenburg (c1070-aft1142) and Eilika von Werl-Rietberg (c1103-c1150) and died 13 June 1167 Niedersachsen, Oldenburg, Lower Saxony, Germany of unspecified causes. He married Salome van Gelre (c1120-c1167) .
Sir Knight & Count Heinrich I whose full name and title was: Heinrich I, Graf Von Oldenburg-Wildeshausen, Ammerland und Rietberg, Vogt Von Rastede was slain in battle in 1167 at the "Siege of Oldenburg" by his longtime enemy "Heinrich the Lion" to whom he had also lost Reitberg.

Oldenburg Palace
Schloss Oldenburg (AKA: Oldenburg palace) is based a medieval lowland castle that was built around 1100 by the Counts of Oldenburg to control a long-distance trade route from Westphalia to East Frisia. It has long served as the seat of power for the historic House of Oldenburg. The earliest recorded occupants were Egilmar I von Oldenburg (c1040-1108) and his wife, Richenza von Dithmarschen (c1045-c1092).
