Hendrik IV van Brabant was born circa 1251 in Leuven to Hendrik III van Brabant (-1261) and Adélaïde de Bourgogne (c1233-1273) and died after 1272 of unspecified causes. Alfred the Great (849-899)/s, Charlemagne (747-814)/s, William I of England (1027-1087)/s, Rollo of Normandy (860-932)/s.
Henry was Duke of Brabant from 1261 to 1267. Succeeding his father at about the age of ten, he proved infirm of mind and body, and was deposed in favor of his younger brother John I, Duke of Brabant. Henry withdrew to a monastery.
