Henry George was born at Corinthian Farm, Weddin Mountains, Grenfell. He married Sarah Jane Ball, daughter of Robert Henry Ball and Elzia Lisa Taunton, on 20 May 1902 at Grenfell Rectory Church of England. He is buried at Grenfell Cemetery.
