Mr. Henry Hawkins' Death

One of the oldest residents, of the district passed away this morning in the person of Mr. Henry Hawkins, aged 82. The late Mr. Hawkins died at the residence of his son, Mr. Lawrie Hawkins, with whom he had been residing. The deceased was born in the Wollombi district and was one of tbe best known of the old Wollombi residents. He saw much of the early life of Wollombi and was able to relate much about the old life and modes of living of the earlier pioneers. Deceased's sister was the mother of the late Mr. George Brown, and of Mr. Andrew and Bart Brown. He is survived by a family of four sons and three daughters. The sons are Mr. William Hawkins (Millfield), Mr. Lawrie Hawkins (Wollombi), Mr. George Hawkins (Ourimbah), and Mr. Ernie Hawkins (Sydney), the daughters are Mrs. Jack Campbell (Wollombi), Mrs. Britcliff (Cessnock), Mrs. Ivan Hughes, Junr. (Cessnock).
