Hester Hyde was born circa 1635 to William Hyde (-1681) and died 13 November 1703 Norwich, New London County, Connecticut, United States of unspecified causes. She married John Post (c1626-1710) March 1652 in Old Saybrook, Middlesex County, Connecticut, United States.
Hyde Genealogy says:
- II. Hester (Esther) Hyde (3), the daughter of William Hyde the first of Norwich, was probably b. in England. She m. in March, 1652, at Saybrook, John Post, b. about 1627, in Eng., son of Stephen Post. John Post and wife settled at Saybrook, where their four eldest children were born. They removed to Norwich in 1660. His home lot was on the opposite side of the street from that of his father-in-law, William Hyde, and was, in 1858, in the possession of two of his descendants, the widow, Lucretia Carew, and her daughter, the widow of Roswell Morgan, Esq. Mr. Post was an active, influential man in the town. His wife d. at Norwich, 13 November, 1703. He survived her, and d. there 10 February, 1711, aged 83, and is buried in the old cemetery near the church at Norwich Town.
