The quhhilk day, Sir Hew Kenedy of Girvanmanis, Knycht, comperand in presens of the Lordis of Secreit Counsall, oblist him to present Jane Campbell, ane of the airis of Corsewall, befoir the Quenis Majestie and Lordis forsaidis at Edinburgh, or quhair it sal happin thame to be for the tyme upon the last day of Januare instant, in siclike stait and conditioun as scho wes the tyme that Uchrid Makdowell of Garthlone wes chargeit to present hir be Robert Campbell, messenger, within the burgh of Air, upoun the xxij day of December last bipast, with thre dayis nixt eftir the charge, be vertew of oure Soverane Ladiis lettres undir hir Hienes subscriptioun and signet. And becaus the said Uchrid failyeit thairintill, he is put to the horne to vertew of the same lettres aS thai and thair executioun beris; and in case the said Sir Hew failye to present the said Jane upoun the last day of the said moneth of Januare, as said is, he is content, and consentis that lettres be direct simpliciter to put him to the horne; and thairfoir the saidis Lordis of Secreit Counsall ordanis lettres to be direct to relax the said Uchrid Makdowell of Garthlone fra the proces of horne led upoun him in the said mater, restoir him to oure Soverane Ladiis peace, and gif to him in the said matter, restoir him the wand thairof, unto the ferd day of Februar nix to cum, without prejudice of the charge and executioun of horning led agains him to vertew of the saidis lettres of befoir, becaus Archibald Erle of Ergyle, our Soverane Ladiis donatour to the said Janis ward and marriage, consentit thairto."
