Ion Roată is a village in Ialomița County, Romania. It is the seat of the commune of Ion Roată. The village was created in 1869 and called Principesa Maria; this name was changed to Ion Roată after the installation of the communist regime in Romania.
In 1976 the former separate villages Broștenii Vechi, Colinele (formerly called Cioara and Slujitori) were merged with the village of Ion Roată.
