Ivan Rogvolodovich (c1100-c1145) is a prince from the Polotsk branch of the Rurikovich dynasty, the son of Prince Rogvolod (Boris) Vseslavich He is mentioned in the Ipatiev Chronicle.
Biography
According to the Ipatiev Chronicle, as well as the Resurrection Chronicles, he was among the princes who were exiled by Mstislav the Great in 1130 to Byzantium." There he is mentioned in the list as the son of Rogvolod Vseslavich together with his brother Rogvolod. In the Chronicles they are mentioned as "Rogvolodovichi", and this, according to scientists, confirms the existence of Rogvolod [1][2] However, this list is questioned by some scientists. [3]
The fate of Ivan Rogvolodovich is unknown. It is known only that in 1140 he, together with his brother Rogvolod, with the permission of the Grand Prince of Kiev Yaropolk Vladimirovich, returned from exile to the motherland. More about him no mention.
