AN old identity of the Hawkesbury district, James Alderton passed away in the Richmond Hospital on Sunday last at the ripe age of 79 years. He was a son of the late John and Mary Alderton, and was born at Portland Head, on the Hawkesbury River. At the age of 28 years, the deceased was married at Richmond to Margaret Turner, and they subsequently lived in Richmond and Kurrajong, where they reared a family of six sons and four daughters. A son and two daughters predeceased their father, those of the family living being Herbert, Margaret, Hilton, Colin, James, Mildred and Horace.
